Dear NGB Heads, Sr. Masters, Masters and International Instructors,

I am happy to inform you that the “05^th SOUTH ASIAN INVITATIONAL ITF TAEKWON-DO CHAMPIONSHIP” is being held at “KORAMANGALA INDOOR STADIUM, KORAMANGALA, BANGALORE-95 ” from 05^th to 07^th August 2016.

The Championship is being organized by “Taekwon-do Association of Karnataka (ITF)” in association with “Taekwon-do Association of India (ITF)” which is the sole representative of “Asian Taekwon-do Federation & International Taekwon-do Federation” in India.

We sincerely hope that you will be able to accept our invitation and join the participants from over 5 countries of the world. Let me assure you that we are most anxious to welcome your team to the championships and the organizing committee will do their utmost to make your visit pleasant and memorable one.

You are requested to confirm your participation with approximate number of participants and officials two months before the scheduled date. Our best efforts to make this championship a grand one as per Asia Taekwon-Do Federation & ITF regulations are assured.

Team Patterns

Team patterns competition will be held for MALE & FEMALE Juniors and Adults.

The designated pattern will be from the lowest belt member of the team.

A team is consisted of 5 + 1 competitor.

Individual Sparring Categories

(ONLY FOR BLUE BELT (4^TH GUP) & ABOVE BELTS)

DIVISION – COLOUR BELT - MALE DIVISION – COLOUR BELT - FEMALE

DIVISION MALE – BLACK BELT - JUNIOR DIVISION FEMALE -BLACK BELT-JUNIOR

DIVISION MALE – BLACK BELT- SENIOR DIVISION FEMALE BLACK BELT- SENIOR

F. SPECIAL STUDENTS CHAMPIONSHIP

Pyramid elimination system is applied for all categories.

Qualification match has

• 1x2 minutes round for Sub-junior & junior

• 1x3 minutes for adults

Final match has

• 2x1.5 minutes rounds for sub-junior & junior

• 2x2 minutes for adults

Self-defense

Self-defense competition will be held for JUNIOR & SENIOR for Male (1+3) and Female (1+2),

The participants of Junior Team must be below 18 yrs on the first day of the event (05.08.2016).

The participants of Senior Team must be 18+ to -40 years on the first day of the event (05.08.2016)

Competing Rules

Rules and regulations of the ITF (International Taekwon-do Federation) are respected at the tournament. You can download the latest ITF rules and scoring system from: www.itftkd.org

Umpires

Umpires will work under command and surveillance of Senior Master Rajendran Balan, 8^th Dan, Chairman of Tournament Committee of Asia Taekwon-do Federation.

Umpires must be worn according to the ITF regulations: A suit (Dark Blue Pants, Dark Blue Coat, Blue Tie and White Shirt) and White Sport Shoes with White Socks. Each Country has to provide at least ONE UMPIRE.

Umpires will be provided Accomodation and food during the event and will be paid pocket money by the Organizational Committee.

The Umpires have to attend all the umpires meetings during the competition. The Chairman of the Tournament council will have the right to dismiss any umpire who do not abide the Tournament schedule or work discipline.

Coaches

Coaches must wear sports suit and sport shoes. They must have plastic bottle with water and towel.

Competitors

There will be no weight tolerances during weighting.

Please take an official identification document with you (passport). It will be used for birth date checking.

Competitors must wear official ITF dobok and must wear protective equipment during sparring.

If there is only one participant in a category that category will be adjusted with other category and if on objection will be removed.

Rewards

The Organizing Committee will provide medals and diplomas for the first, second and both third places for each category.

Fees

Entry fee for competing will be USD 100/- (or equivalent INR) per participant.

Protestation fee is INR 500. The money is returned if the appeal is found justified. Protestation must be issued within 5 minutes after the questionable event.

All payments are done at the day and place of the tournament.

Most Important

It is the participant’s responsibility to have full insurance coverage for all eventualities. The organizer will not be responsible for any injury or loss for the participants, before, during and after the 5^th South Asian Championship.

Accommodation, Food & Transport

The Organizing Committee will bear the accommodation, food & transport (3 nights starting from 05^th to 07^th AUG 16) in the cost of the Entry fee of USD 100/-. If the participants want STAR HOTEL accommodation they have to bear the cost of walk in price of the Hotel.

Equipments

It is mandatory that all contestants should have their own approved ITF/TAI Sparring equipments and have worn the same while entering the arena. COMPULSORY EQUIPMENTS : Foot Glouse, Hand Glouse, Teeth Guard, Abdomen Guard (boys), Breast Guard (girls) . OPTIONAL EQUIPMENTS : Head Guard, Shin & Forearm Guard,.
